Editor's
Letter
by Jim Caldwell
Finally,
here we are with our second issue of the WebLetter. I realize we
were beginning to stretch even the bounds of "Better late than never",
for which I apologize to all our members. One of my 2001 resolutions
is to get this out quarterly, and I really mean it this time, dammit!
We've
expanded the Letter with more verbal and pictorial content. You
may have already seen some of these e-mails from Nash, our hard-working
Prez, but I felt that the WebLetter would be a more permanent and
public venue for these important ideas. Our plan is to archive issues
on the ASMP Houston web site as we publish their replacement.
Our
most important innovation with this issue is the General Member
Profile, an opportunity to see some work and words by more established
members. Our first Profilee is Bob Gomel, a most appropriate choice
considering he organized this chapter way back in 1979 when many
of us joined. He was the Chapter's first President and has stepped
in to help whenever needed over the years. Most recently he helped
organize our meeting programs.
Since
most of us are familiar with Bob's more famous images, I asked him
to show us a side we might not know and give us a few surprises.
I think we've got a fascinating look at a long and distinguished
career. Thanks Bob!
